I know that many of you have been up at night, wondering what the names of the trees are that we saw in Rome. Actually, I know that many of you have NOT been up at might wondering, since I think only one person reads this blog, and that is because I force Todd to read it.
I read Under the Tuscan Sun by Frances Mayes to compare her living in Tuscany to our spending 3 days in Tuscany. No comparison. But she does mention the ever present Cyprus trees.
Then I used the wonderful world of Wikipedia to find out that the tall, umbrella like trees are called Stone Pines or (oddly) Umbrella Pines.
Mystery solved.
